I loved this book, though I think the title is a bit misleading. How much do parents really matter? It is not. Freakonomics, written by journalist Stephen J. Dubner and economist Steven D. Levitt, is a book on modern economics that provides key insight into our society as well as clarifying the difference between causation and connectivity, and discussing situations were people have confused the two. An extremely useful gift in the misguiding modern world.Extremely enlightening! Which is more dangerous, a gun or a swimming pool?

October 17th 2006 There's not enough discussion on the data itself, no distinction between quantitative and qualitative, and not enough discussion on the many flaws of data and how we analyze it. The most startling and thought-provoking example is definitely the unexpected reduction in US urban crime that occurred towards the end of the 20th century. Could these two tossers be any more smarmy and self indulgent?
They range from business to philanthropy to sports to politics, all with the goal of retraining your brain. Extremely enlightening! All it takes is a new way of looking at things.Levitt and Dubner mix smart thinking and great storytelling like no one else, whether investigating a solution to global warming or explaining why the price of oral sex has fallen so drastically.
